LECTURES & WORKSHOP
Lectures & Workshops Public talks, teaching formats, and workshops on electronic music, diasporic sound, tuning systems, and the politics of listening.
At the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Seba teaches "Decolonize Electronic Music" — a course that treats the dancefloor as a site of sonic liberation and critical inquiry. Rooted in archival research, oral histories, and experimental sound practice, her teaching draws on Edward Said's critique of imposed constructs of "Orient" and "Occident" to interrogate the politics of listening.
Her workshop formats have been presented at CIVA Festival, Sonic Territories, Res Radio as well as with Neuer Wiener Diwan / Stand 129, alongside her teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna
MUSICPRODUCTION
Seba´s productions are built on tuning systems and timbres that exist outside the 12-tone Western default — hypnotic techno, microtonal textures, and percussive intensity that brings Kurdish diasporic sound into club architecture. Her releases include Tencere, nominated for the Austrian Best Music Video Award, The Impossible Halay feat. Rizan Said, and Zurna Rave — a collision of the ceremonial zurna with hypnotic techno as a form of sonic reclamation.
DJ & LIVEPERFORMANCE
From Donaufestival to Jupiter Disco New York, Wiener Festwochen to the Austrian Cultural Forum — her sets move through gritty textures, heavy percussion, and ecstatic melodic fragments. The dancefloor is not a neutral territory. It is a space of memory, resistance, and collective experience.
